Canine Good Citizen Class

The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. This certificate is not a title, but rather a symbol that the team passed the requirements of the program, and is therefore a Good Citizen.

On week six a Certified CGC evaluator will be there to administer the AKC CGC test for each student in the class.

Skills Taught: Calmly accepting grooming, Calmly accepting handling of paws, Politely greeting a stranger, Politely greeting a person walking a dog, Walking on a loose leash without the aid of a training collar, Walking on a loose leash through a moving crowd, Sitting for a manual examination, Sit, Down, Stay, Calm reactions to real-life distractions, and Out of sight stays.

Next session starts: April 7, 2015
Time: 8:00-8:45
Session: 6 weeks (CGC test on Week 6)
FEE: $95.00
Instructor: Cindy Strumph
